Division 9 U-Fli National Champions

The Droolin Dragsters traveled to Gray Summit, Mo to compete in the U-Fli National Championships on November, 12th and 13th, 2011. We came home with First Place in division nine! This is the fifth year in a row that the Dragsters have won our division in the Nationals.

It was a great weekend altogether. On Friday, Max competed in singles. He placed third in the tournament and the exciting news was he had a 4.3 second run. Fantastic run Max!

We had a visitor both Saturday and Sunday, our team member Sheila Shelley came out to visit. We lost Sheila and her racing members several years ago when her job moved her to St Louis. She is now working for Purina and came out wearing team colors. Although she recently lost both Trinity and Bailey she has two new family members and they all came out to cheer on the team.

Droolin Dragsters are headed to the Nationals

The Droolin Dragsters traveled to Talladega, Al on August 13th and 14th for a U-fli tournament and the Qualifier for the U-fli Nationals.  It was a great weekend for the Dragsters!  On Saturday we won our division in the qualifier and are now headed for the Nationals in St. Louis in November.  In Sunday’s tournament we took first Place in our division.  Just as important as winning our divisions is the fact that we took a whole second off our team run time – way to go Dragsters!

Droolin Dragsters Compete in Nashville

The Droolin Dragsters traveled to Nashville on April 2nd and 3rd to compete in a NAFA Flyball tournament, Wired for Sound, hosted by the Music City Road Dogs. It was our first NAFA tournament since losing two members, Steve Varner and Kara McHugh, currently serving in Afghanistan, and welcoming our newest team member, Melodi Lewis-Carvour and her two flyball dogs Houston and Max.   Rebecca Jones came up with the team to help run Houston and Autumn – our height dogs, and Kara let us borrow her dog, Griz, who, along with Bella, Red and Mikki completed the team.

Droolin Dragsters went “Racing at the Westinn”

The Dragsters traveled to Wentzville, Mo to compete in a U-Fli flyball tournament on March 12th and 13th.  The tournament was hosted by the K9Racers and held at the Westinn Kennels, Under one Woof.  The team placed Second in our division both days.  It was a great weekend.  Melodi came up to compete in her first tournament with the team running Houston, who became our new height dog, and Max.  Lea brought Griz up, and with her two, Bella and Blaze,  it kept her busy all weekend.  Gary ran Mikki and Nicholette came up with Red.  Rebecca came along and was either running a dog, box loading, or keeping stats.  With Steve Varner and Kara McHugh both in Afganistan we were a little short handed but the team managed to run, and three of the dogs came home with new titles.
