Flyball, Team on the Go

The Drooling Dragsters have  traveled to several tournaments since our last post.  We have been to , Chattanooga, TN and Clanton & Talladega, AL.  We ran two teams in Clanton the Hot Rods and Low Riders.  The Hot Rods came in Third on Saturday and the Low Riders had a clean heat.  It doesn’t sound like much but it was FAR improved from their last tournament when we couldn’t seem to keep them in the right lane.  We ran one team in Talladega and  although we didn’t place well we had several dogs get new titles.

Dawg Derby NAFA Flyball

Once again the flyball team was on the move.  The team traveled down to Athens, GA to compete in the Dawg Derby hosted by Double Dog Dare on July 13th and 14th.  It was the team’s first time traveling down to Athens for Flyball.  The drive was awful – Atlanta traffic is horrible.  But the tournament was a lot of fun.  We once again borrowed Lee Short and Brigitte, her fast little corgi.  The team didn’t place great – we came in forth in our division but we had some good heats.  We ran several heats at about 21.6.  It is a new fast time for us.  And to top it off Brigitte got her NAFA Onyx title while racing with our team.

Droolin Dragsters Qualify for the Nationals

The Droolin Dragsters traveled all the way to Wilmington, OH in April to compete in the Qualifier for the National Championships hosted by Reeking Havoc.  The raced Saturday and came in first place in our Division.  We are going to the Nationals in August!

Mac, Gary’s youngest border, was there to compete in his first tournament.  He raced in singles both Saturday and Sunday morning.  He did great for the first time on the tournament floor.  We were all stationed at strategic spots up and down the lane to keep him from crossing over but the boy surprised us, he stayed in his lane and even ran a couple of heats at 4.9.
